Salty Debby’s is working with Seafood Producers Co-Operative based in Southeast Alaska to bring you Black Cod! The co-operative is fisherman owned, ensuring that your purchase will continue to support small businesses with a focus on bringing you the best quality seafood on the market. Salty Debby’s is proud to source seafood in-line with our values.

Small business: Salty Debby’s supports small scale commercial fishing operations that are individually and family owned. We want our customers purchasing power to go towards fishermen and their families rather than huge corporate box stores and outside shareholders.

Quality: Flash frozen at peak freshness, pin-boned and skin on, ensures the best quality on the market. Each 100g serving of sablefish (Black Cod) contains 1787mg of Omega-3s, which is higher than any other whitefish and even king salmon. Being packed with heart-healthy fatty oils makes sablefish nearly impossible to overcook because it won't dry out like other fish.

Sustainability: Salty Debby’s values well managed fisheries geared towards sustainability over mass production. These Black Cod are caught one by one on hook and line. According to NOAA, regulations limit the amount of incidentally caught and discarded fish in the Alaska fishery. The catch shares program on the West Coast creates incentives to reduce bycatch.
